Start the AI pilot with the work in view.

The Implementation Readiness Canvas helps a team name the workflow, set the data boundary, place human review, and assign ownership before choosing how AI should assist.

Designed for planning and conversation—not for clinical decision-making or use with identifiable patient information.

Hands arranging workflow cards labelled Map the work, Input, AI assist, Human review, Owner, Safeguard, and Handoff.
Preview: the canvas follows the work from input through review, ownership, safeguards, and handoff.

Inside the resource

One clear surface for the decisions that come first.

Use the canvas before a tool demo, planning session, or small pilot. It is built to slow the right decisions down: what work is repeated, what information enters the process, what AI may assist with, and where a person must review the result.

You can complete it independently, then bring the marked-up canvas into a team conversation.

Readiness canvas

A structured page for mapping the workflow, input, AI-assist step, human review, owner, safeguard, and handoff.

Setup prompts

Short questions that help a team begin with a real, repeated task instead of starting with a tool.

Boundary check

A practical pause for data sensitivity, approved-tool requirements, source checking, and human accountability.

Review roles

Space to name who checks the output, who can approve a change, and who owns the workflow after the pilot.

Pilot framing

A simple way to define a small test, the evidence worth observing, and the conditions for stopping or revising it.

Handoff notes

A final prompt for documentation, training, and the next decision so the workflow is not dependent on one person.

Fit and boundaries

Useful when the workflow is real and the scope is clear.

The canvas supports operational discovery. It does not decide whether a use case is clinically safe, legally permitted, technically secure, or approved by your organization.

This is for

Teams shaping an accountable first pilot.

  • Practice, education, association, and healthcare-business teams mapping repeated operational work.
  • Leaders preparing a workflow-discovery or staff-training conversation.
  • Founders and operators who need to define review and ownership before testing a tool.
  • Small groups comparing a proposed AI assist against the current way work moves.

This is not for

Direct-care decisions or a shortcut around governance.

  • Diagnosing, treating, triaging, or making patient-specific clinical decisions.
  • Entering identifiable patient, learner, employee, or customer data into an unapproved tool.
  • Replacing privacy, security, legal, procurement, or organizational review.
  • Removing professional judgment, supervision, or a named human reviewer from the workflow.
